History of the EUC QA rubric
From qaWiki
- The BOR wanted to establish guidelines to review online/DDN courses
- In 2004, the EUC evaluated processes at each institution
- Established the "Distance Education Course Readiness Review Instrument" to assure common review process
- This process had limitations, did not address certain areas of online pedagogy, and overall was not a thorough evaluation tool
- In 2006, the EUC reviewed the Quality Matters Inter-institutional Quality Assurance in Online Learning (QM) process
- In March, 2006, instructional designers, eLearning coordinators and distance education deans participated in QM-led training
- EUC recommended adoption of the QM Rubric, outlined a QA process and sent proposal to BOR
- In mid-2006 the SDBOR approved QA process with QM Rubric developed through the FIPSE Grant
- As of 2008, the EUC continues to use a revised QA process/rubric based on the QM process/rubric developed through the FIPSE Grant
